Trans Atlantic International Company was funded by private investors and Michael acquired assets such as the 10-story, 200-room Ramada Inn on Pico Blvd and 5th Street in the City of Santa Monica, along with 100 units of apartments located adjacent on the south side of the hotel. Michael also purchased an adjacent one-acre parcel of land on the west side of the hotel on Pico Blvd. MJM hired Doug Lowe, architect, to redesign the hotel into a 300-room international hotel (flagged as Sheraton Four Points) with all amenities. Michael and his group then sold off the apartments separately from the hotel, and sold the hotel to an institutional buyer. This transaction took almost five years and made an exceptional profit for the company as well as the partners.
Along with his hotel development with Trans Atlantic International, Michael designed and built several condominium buildings in the cities of Encino, Torrance, Santa Monica, Long Beach, Los Angeles, and either rented or sold them.
