Backround
MICHAEL ASHEGHIAN is the Founder and President of MJM Investment Co., LLC. He is a real estate owner, developer and acting principal. Michael oversees and manages all aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions, 1031 exchanges, property dispositions, land development, planning, architectural advisement and the company's investment strategy and direction. With almost 40 years and a billion dollars of diverse real estate transactions under his belt, Michael's experience and his deep expertise is apparent in diverse asset classes.
After graduating from the School of Architecture at the University of Southern California, his business career began with the architectural and engineering firm of Victor Gruen Associates in charge of designing major commercial, industrial and institutional complexes in the US and other developing countries. He also helped world-renown architects such as Cesar Pelli, Ramesh Patel and several others, in the design of well-known structures.
After leaving Victor Gruen Associates in 1978, Michael established Trans Atlantic International Corporation, an investment and development company, working to design and build shopping centers, hotels, apartment complexes and condominiums.
In 1998, Michael met Malcolm Riley, past ICSC President, and became fast friends, leading to the joint venture of shopping center developments and purchases in Southern California.
Michael currently oversees over 1.5 million square feet of commercial, multi- family and residential development properties through MJM and its JV partners. He lives and works in West Los Angeles, California.
